One Nation leader Pauline Hanson is calling for offshore oil and gas giants operating in Australia to fund the Royal Commissions’ recommendations into Aged Care and avoid raising taxes on workers and small businesses.

“Before we ask taxpayers to fund the Royal Commissions’ recommendations through increases to the Medicare Levy, Government should be forcing multinational oil and gas companies to pay their fair share of tax for the resources taken from Commonwealth waters.”

“We are missing out on billions each year because of gutless politicians.”

More than $350 billion in Petroleum Resources Rent Tax (PRRT) credits have been accrued by oil and gas giants including Chevron, Exxon Mobil, Shell, BHP, and ConocoPhillips.

Senator Hanson said, “It’s likely these companies will pay little to no tax on the gas they take in the future, particularly those off Western Australia.”

“If we want to pay for aged care reform, NDIS, increases to unemployment benefits, and general services provided by Government, we must make multi-national companies pay for the commodities they’re taking from off our coastline.”

“If it’s good enough for the Government to go after tech giants, it’s time to tackle the world’s oil and gas companies.”

“These people are the biggest tax dodgers in the world, and until we do something about tax avoidance by multinationals, Mum and Dad workers will continue to bear the expense through increased taxes.”

Senator Hanson is calling on Prime Minister, Scott Morrison to phase out PRRT tax credits over the next 10 years and create a sovereign wealth fund by implementing a transaction tax on oil and gas companies.

“There’s no excuse why these offshore projects can’t pay a flat tax of between 5% to 10% based on the meters that measure their production.”

“The current arrangement between Government and gas companies is not to the benefit of Australians and needs fixing immediately before gas production doubles over the next 20 years.”

“Every single politician will one day be a patient in an aged care facility. We can either fix the problem now or eventually experience first hand how dire the system has become.”

“Instead, as loyal Liberal Party members they made a statement that did not support their CEO

“The Prime Minister this morning is widely quoted as boasting in regard to another matter, and I quote – “My standards don’t change”.

“That’s a real shame – especially when we see the damage his standards and those of his Ministers and Liberal-friendly board members have so far done to Christine Holgate, reputationally, financially and in terms of her health.

“The Prime Minister should be saying his double standards don’t change.

“Just look at NBN, where Tom McIlroy reported in the AFR last week, the company paid staff nearly $80 million dollars in bonuses in the second half of 2020. That’s 80 million dollars including a bonus of $1.2 million to the CEO taking his package to more than $3 million – almost double what was paid to Ms Holgate.

“Where’s the Prime Minister’s outrage?

“Where was the government’s outrage when the previous CEO of Australia Post quit and walked away with a package of almost $11 million after gifting executives cash and cars?

“And when the current Chair of Australia Post denied ever seeing the BCG Report into the sustainability of Australia Post  forgetting he flew to Canberra to discuss the report with the relevant Ministers and conveniently forgetting the five and a half hour board meeting he called to discuss the report?

“Where’s the Prime Minister’s outrage on those statements?

“The Prime Minister’s actions, and the actions of the Australia Post Chair and board over Ms Holgate, have so far cost what – around 350 thousand dollars to launch a new global search for a replacement to Ms Holgate?

“Perhaps a million or two for the Maddox Inquiry?

“The loss of confidence of Australia Post’s 80,000 employees and the effects on performance?

“The loss of business opportunities put in front of Australia Post’s existing management without Ms Holgate?

“The potential payout to Ms Holgate should she launch legal proceedings against Australia Post and its board? Maybe in the tens of millions of dollars?

“The message sent to any incoming CEO of any major government-related corporation that they’ll be thrown under the bus when the board does the bidding of it’s political masters.”

“All over 20 thousand dollars worth of watches that Ms Holgate was fully authorised to present in keeping with normal commercial practice that rewarded one of the most financially advantageous deals in the history of Australia Post.

“The actions of the Prime Minister, his relevant Ministers and the Chair and Board of Australia Post and their appalling treatment of Ms Holgate, deserve nothing less than a Senate Inquiry.”

With just 64 days until the Western Australian election, One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has informed State leader Colin Tincknell and Mining and Pastoral MLC, Robin Scott that unpredictable travel conditions will prevent her from taking part in the state election campaign.

The decision comes as the Queensland Government informed greater Brisbane residents that the state’s capital, Redlands, Ipswich, Moreton, and surrounding regions will go into lockdown from 6 pm Friday.

The three-day lockdown which was endorsed by Prime Minister Scott Morrison will restrict movement unless for essential reasons including receiving healthcare or support for a vulnerable person, essential shopping within a person’s local area, and exercise in your local neighbourhood.

Senator Hanson said, “I had planned to help Western Australian candidates campaign in January, but those plans have been dashed due to the discovery of the highly infectious UK strain here in Queensland.”

“Could you imagine what the media would write if, for some unforeseen reason, I bought a case of coronavirus to Western Australia? No thanks.”

“We have witnessed interstate travellers forced into hotel quarantine following border closures mid-journey, and I’m afraid Premier Mark McGowan would deem campaigning as non-essential travel and therefore leave me locked up for 14-days.”

The One Nation leader praised the efforts of her parties WA Members in their strong fight to stop Labor’s Gold Tax and crippling Rock Lobster legislation.

“Without Colin Tincknell and Robin Scott, Western Australia’s gold mining industry would have been destroyed and so too the rock lobster industry.”

“They single-handedly put an end to laws that would have devastated two world-renowned industries.”

“I strongly believe Western Australia is better off with One Nation’s influence in the Legislative Council and while Mark McGowan holds a significant prospect of re-election, he mustn’t control both the lower and upper house in WA.”

“Voters may be satisfied with the job Mark McGowan has done keeping COVID levels low in the state, but with a vaccine due to roll out in February, people need to think about the state’s economy post-pandemic.”

“One Nation continues to be the voice of the people because we don’t arrogantly dismiss the issues of grassroots voters.”

“Malcolm Roberts and I have an enormous year ahead of us, particularly in the space of family law and industrial relations.”

Senator Hanson’s Joint Select Committee on Australia’s Family Law System will hand down its final report on February 25, 2021, with the One Nation leader refusing to miss that opportunity.

One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has indicated she will support the 0.5% increase to superannuation in July 2021 but is calling on Treasurer, Josh Frydenberg to clarify the purpose of Australia’s multi-trillion dollar retirement fund.

Senator Hanson said, “If the purpose of superannuation today is to increasingly fund caravan and land cruiser sales, it’s succeeding.”

“But if it’s the purpose of superannuation is to give workers of today a better, self-funded lifestyle in their twilight years without taking a taxpayer-funded pension, it’s failing.”

“I think a growing number of Australian’s have forgotten what superannuation is there for.”

“While the money belongs to the employee, it wasn’t designed to be cashed out as a lump sum and blown, only to leave a person on a government pension for the rest of their lives.”

“People should not be encouraged to squander their superannuation. It defeats the purpose of the scheme.”

“If we don’t re-clarify the purpose of superannuation now, we might as well just give these increases to people through their pay packets.”
